STIXBRANDS INTERNATIONAL JOINS THE WAR AGAINST COVID19

Sir Winston Churchill wartime Prime Minister of Britain once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” It is easy to get caught up the hustle and bustle of our lives and simply look past non-profit organizations and the benefit they provide to our communities. These benefits are far reaching, and can include children receiving quality medical care and education, taking care of our elder generation, and homeless people in need of being fed,.

These are just a few examples of the many great services that are provided by non-profits. Our community is stronger because of the programs non-profits put in place. The help from the community, both financially and through volunteers, is always needed and appreciated.

The world is now at war with Covid19, an enemy that cannot be seen, but if we all pull together we can overcome this global disaster.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN

Stix Brands International is introducing a Fundraising campaign that not only promotes the importance of Handwashing, but also helps raise money to support the needs of organizations and individuals needing assistance during these difficult times.

Although alcohol based sanitizers are being promoted as a solution to stop the spread of the virus, it is common knowledge that frequent handwashing with soap and water is the number one way to stop the spread of the Corona virus.

Supporting Our Vulnerable Seniors

In almost every country battling with the COVID-19 outbreak, people over the age of 65 are being told to self-quarantine and shut themselves off from other people who might risk infecting them.

Sadly, this means grandparents will not be seeing their children and grandchildren for potentially several months and risk being left emotionally as well as physically alone. The concern here is not just older people who may get sick; it is the people who will experience a drop in their quality of life in response to the outbreak.

But why is it that these extreme measures need to be put in place and what is it about older people that make them so much more vulnerable to catching and developing complications from coronavirus? The answer lies in their immune systems. As we grow older, we become more likely to develop health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, lung conditions and cancer.

What can we do to help?

Stix Brands International is launching a Referral Marketing Fundraising program that should be implemented in all senior residences, and that caregivers should encourage hand washing for their own protection and the protection of the seniors under their care. Unfortunately, seniors, particularly our elder seniors are exposed to germs and bacteria, with Pneumonia being second only to heart disease as a killer of the older demographic. “Ordinary respiratory infections, colds and influenza can lead to pneumonia and the Mayo Clinic advises that “seniors wash their hands regularly to help prevent the spread of these illnesses.”

Most senior homes and daycare centers have chemical-based petroleum soaps that are harmful to the skin and general health. The addition of Purmaple Hand & Body Wash and the portable on the go SOAPSTIX in support of nonprofit organizations will add a new dimension to an already powerful line up of Stix Brands International natural products with a percentage of all sales being donated to support worthy causes.

Young or old everyone has a part to play.

The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention recommends hand washing over hand sanitizer rubs, and state that alcohol sanitizers are not as effective as soap and water at preventing the spread of viruses.
